As I mentioned earlier - I haven't watched it yet

I saw the Episode IV in the theater when I was 10 years old.
It's influenced my creative life ever since.
Sure, the later movies weren't as good but I think I still see it all through the bewildered eyes of an amazed 10 year old in some way.

I think it is hard to fault the original three movies but I really struggle to find anything really positive to say about the prequels. Not withstanding the fact that the whole Anakin storyline was so wrong/OTT/over-acted and badly narrated, there were some seriously fundamental flaws with the whole plot and other areas of the storyline.

I'm open to discussion regarding this but ... I insist that you first watch redlettermedia's excellent reviews of the three films. If you disagree with what Plinkett says about the trilogy then lets talk. I have to say, if you are a Star Wars fan, you really have to watch these reviews - most of his evidence comes from comparing the old Star Wars films with the new ones. Sadly, to give you an idea as to how bad I thought the new ones were, I've watched these reviews of the new films more than the films themselves.

Seriously though - these reviews are brilliant, really funny, entertaining and in my opinion - spot on. This guy REALLY knows his films.
