Update: Lo & behold, I have encountered an art block. Darn. :(

Update 2: The Deviantart is making gloriously cumbersome changes to the notifications, as some of you may've already seen. I'm trying to break my art block and it isn't precisely helping. :(

Update 3: Had hoped there would be new art before Elden Ring comes out, but now my left eyelid is infected! So far my own 2022 hasn't been happy and healthy... :(

Hello you Gentlebeings, have a happy and healthy 2022! How are the things?

Me, I've enjoyed being a cryo-frozen sloth - it's a cool & relaxing state... but not very creative. Enough is enough: it's thawing time!

I decided to return back to our well-worn Suggest Me A Character-game, since they've been fruitful in the past. I'm searching for your very own character creations (original characters, RPG characters, fan characters...)

If you have a cool humanoid character and would like me to paint them, feel free to participate!

(Oh, so you've participated one of these before and still want me to paint that particular character? Copy & paste!)

Rules & restrictions:

- Fantasy or science fiction only.

- The character must be human-shaped. Small things like pointy ears and a tail are acceptable.

- Keep things tasteful. No NSFW/mature content.

- If in doubt, check my gallery.

Describe your character well. Write the description down in the journal comments below.

Visual reference is extremely welcome, so provide images/links if possible.

If you lack visual reference (no one has ever drawn your character for example), you could use something like www.heroforge.com and screenshot your creations. You can also give me "looks a bit like this"-type hints.

PS. The big plan is to find an interesting character to paint right now. My purpose is not to be a critic and judge your creations' worth. Well, what's going to inspire me? I've no idea! :)

Firstly, here's an update to my original post:

Update: What's going on? Well, a new mouse is in the house! My ancient, reliable logitech died and I was unable to find the same type as a replacement. Not a single frikkin new age mouse is similar! Everything has changed!

The new mouse is certainly OK, but consider this: I've done most of my artwork with that old logitech model and grown pretty darn used to it. Thousands of hours of intense mouse work, no hyperbolae!

How long does it take to get used to the new model? Bleh. I'm not feeling very inspired right now. :(

Nevertheless, I'd really like to paint at least one of your suggestions one day. Since I've not chosen any character yet you can keep new suggestions coming. Read the rules below.

Today's post is not about free art lotteries or art trades. It's A SOCIAL CALL.

Basically I just wanted to say "hi I'm still here", and hear something about your recent happenings, moods and adventures. So, how is it going? Alive and well, I hope... and especially enjoying the right kind of weather.

Me? Oh, no. Too hot. Had trouble sleeping last day (er, I mean night). These Finnish buildings are made to withstand cold, not heat. I have a fan, about to get another, but an air conditioning device? No. :(

At least my new computer knows how to keep its temperatures down. Ah yes, and I also need a new mouse. Hopefully I'm able to find something that feels like the ol' seasoned veteran. A mouse artist without a good mouse is in trouble.

Then there's another curious matter, this time about the silly place, Deviantart. Since when has there been this "Chat" thing, the one right below "Notes"?? I've always automatically ignored chats (they're often too hasty), so I only noticed it today. I also noticed all those not-at-all-hastily-written writings and requests that seemed to be directed at me. Still not exactly sure if they were. Were they?

I'm quite dumb. :(

Well, if you've actually sent these "chats" for me and never received a reply, it's nothing personal! It's just that the receiver has... brain-issues.

I'm hopefully getting back to painting new art soon, but "I'm melting I'm melting!"-condition must be taken care of first. (And yes, I also have that new game, Wildermyth. You should check it out if you like character-focused rpgs.)

and I should've probably revealed that already, but royally forgot to update the journal. Sorry about that. After Deviantart changed, everything's been feeling oddly "distant" in this place...

I got a sliver of my inspiration back, found that people are still following these journals, and made a new picture!

I'd now like to poke the Art Trade possibility. Does it stir and say, "grrr I eat you!" Hmm?

I'm sure-as-heck not looking for supertalented geniuses here, but you must know how to draw and/or paint humanoid characters (like geeky tiefling ladies). You'll need to have that "artistic spark" that forces you to create new art, improve your skills, and enrich your galleries.

The deal would be... one humanoid character for you, one for me. I'd give you lots of creative freedom. My limitations? Characters I do only need an ordinary humanoid physique and no crude/icky/tasteless/y'know features. Otherwise, almost everything goes.

This is going to be, at least for now, a single project. I can't take more than one (1) trade partner. Chained by obligation and strangled by stress ain't my kink, I'm afraid!
