LOVE thief girls. You have been working really hard on your backgrounds, they are looking vary well done lately (though they are usually good just not as vibrant or something..). Colors are superb, and the setting is a nice window entrance and possibly exit I enjoy the leather straps quite a bit. Do you think you emulate the current D&D style artwork? It might not be spot on but it has many of the same qualities I enjoy from their books.
I wrote some things about her face and the lighting but I couldn't quite explain it well enough. I'll just say it looked slightly off. I messed with my monitor and turned the setting to something i like to use for colorful artwork (I should have changed it when I came here, but its real dark normally so I don't have eye strain staring at big monitors) and it looked a lot better. It still is a little off now but I think its my own perception of the scene and its perfectly fine.
Ya, I didn't think you were going their art. It is just vary similar and that is why I like it so much. Its realistic with just a hint of cartoon look that helps it fit in with a fantasy world of magic and monster design.
If you want height/size references, have something else in the picture that most people are familiar with, so they can compare. Works better than eyes, especially given the proliferation of goofy anime. The Japanese are nothing if not cliched.
