Worse... worlds worse than any of those... poor Pamine. There is no way in any universe that she could possibly be the victor in this encounter. It's like throwing a level 1 party up against a nightwalker, except more extreme.
nice proportions but something is missing. It would be cool if you could paint the monster or dragon or whatever this is because the image looks like it was cropped. If I were you i would get rid of black because it flattens the image exrtremely. Pure black should be used very wisely. Hope it helps and keep going
I'm not really into monsters and the hand is part of the joke. Don't take this as a serious painting! It's just a bosomous babe and an ugly hand, both ready for some stabbing and grabbing.
About the black... My eye sees no flattening. All those hours painting might have numbed my eye, so I would be appreciative if you'd give some further elucidation. Where are the wrongly blackened spots?
Near her right eye perhaps? (A character with gothic makeup, dark brows AND dark eyes mean trouble, but I stayed loyal to elfguy's design.)
Most definitely, and the babe will be squished soon!
Yet there is the presence of "but" as the Hand in the picture is MY hand. Thus we must assume that YOU are actually ME. Or you're Mr. Hyde to my Dr. Jekyll. (Perhaps vice versa.) We two must be the same!
I was partly inspired by Boris Vallejo's works here. There is an irony - Vallejo relies heavily on models, while I try to remain creative like Frazetta or Bisley. I revere the wild and creative art (Elsevilla) and am attracted to the paintings of Romantic Era, but still something drives me toward Realism.
