Half-Orc Paladin by SirTiefling Half-Orc Paladin by SirTiefling
To prove the universe I'm not exactly a powergamer.

As a matter of fact, I'm not a gamer at all! It's just fun to draw critters and monsters and half-orc paladins.

Tools: Mouse, Paint Shop Pro.

PS. The guy's name is Nothgar. SIR Nothgar. :)

Wow. I never thought to see a human looking Half-Orc.. I actually think this is my favorite depiction of a Half-Orc now; because why would someone who is Half-Orc inherit the green skin, strength, and teeth of the Orc, and nothing of the human besides size?

Actually.. Now you got me thinking of which parent was the Orc... Because that's probably the deciding factor on what their skin color becomes..

This half-orc could've just been very lucky...

SirTiefling, do you have any issues with me using your pictures of this paladin as character images for a 5th Edition Half-Orc Paladin I intend to play?

No issues. I'm issue-free.

I thank you, and Gath Raidborn thanks you.  I believe that the Church of Pelor might thank you, but Gath is sort of a one-man crusade.

This is the first picture of a half orc I have genuinely liked in a while. I applaud you.

This is very well done. It's nice to see a happy medium between Orc and human without too much of either. Sir Nothgar is perfect.

They've lost their charisma penalty and are quite popular fellows these days.

His dad, an orc, was a bit effeminate. :)

He looks way more handsome than I would have imagined.
Maybe it's not so bad being a half-orc.:)
And a paladin? I bet that doesn't happen very often.

It's certainly rare. Charisma is a paladin's attribute but half-orcs have CHA -2. What can I say... I like underdogs in my games. :)

Me too, And I really like the half-orc race.
Have you done a sexy half-orc girl?
Seems like that would be a good opportunity to do the "less than gorgeous" cute girl.

I've drawn a cute half-orc girl once, years ago, with a pencil, but that picture is long gone by now. I've also drawn a cute dwarf girl. :)

Sweet! Cute dwarves are totally underrepresented as well.
Think you might post them one day?

No I just meant maybe in the future.
I just realized your icon is actually your orc guy.

he seems more a one fourth orc blooded - in my universe, there is peoples of mixed origins beyond 'halves', but it is mostly cosmetic notes then

Something I've been wondering... Are there any halfling-elf hybrids in D&D? I think my thief, Poppy Baublesnatcher [link] is one.

Human-halfling (Kender!) in Dragonlance, for sure...

Maybe this is a possible origin for Gnomes. ;)

I personaly brought Mules and the half-Hobgoblins of Kalamar too to my world, as well.

Maybe Poppy is a tiny elf who pretends to be a large halfling. :)

I have to echo the statements others have made. Too many pictures of half-orcs lean towards emphasizing the orcish appearance, forgetting they have human in them too. And I have a soft spot for paladins, so I like this even more! Kudos!

I love this character too.
He really has the strong and pure stare one expects in a paladin, which makes him something different from a simple warrior and still he's not the cliché prince charming as some paladins are.
Also a brilliant study for an orcish halfbreed!

Thank you. That's a great comment. :)

I always try to give my characters "an edge", preferably multiple ones, and flee away from anything resembling tradition or cliché. It's impossible to present every quirk in one portrait, of course, at least by my raw and self-learned skill, but I do my best.

Trivia: Children make Sir Nothgar lose the strength in his voice, for he still remembers harsh bullying he once suffered, and his greatest challenge then is to keep his stammer in check. Sure, Nothgar was the biggest kid, but he also had too much natural gentleness - and religious fear invoked by his virtuous Silver Flame tutors - to defend himself. Today he can easily handle a monster, but when it comes to mostly innocent nuisances...

you know this concept will remain endlessly intriguing for me. I like how you drew him, he's so dang handsome, but some of the orcish blood does show. conflicting, hahaha.
